Hot on the heels of the SOLD OUT run of Killjoy and General Electric album shows comes news of SHIHAD’s national tour in support of IGNITE – their new album slated for a September 24th release through iconic rock label Roadrunner Records.<br />
<br />
Those in the know describe ‘Ignite’ as harkening back to many of the original raw elements of Shihad – the rumbling and slow spiralling heavy groove unfolding under the thick crackle of a duelling Telecaster and SG all underpinning Jon Toogood’s engaging vocal.<br />
<br />
Joining Shihad on the Ignite tour to round out a smokin’ bill are Trial Kennedy and Black Devil Yard Boss (BDYB).<br />
<br />
Trial Kennedy barely need introduction after their incendiary debut album ‘New Manic Art’ ripped through Australian rock airwaves in 2008; and word is TK will be playing cuts from an imminent new release.<br />
<br />
BDYB features ex-Mammal members Pete Williamson and Zane Rosanoski and ex-Pete Murray’s Stonemason bass player Michael Davids. The debut BDYB EP is released on August 13th and their first single ‘One Dead Letter’ is spinning on triple j radio.<br />

AC/DC the greatest rock and roll band on the planet, who have sold over 200 million records worldwide, return home to Australia in February 2010 as part of the Black Ice World Tour.<br />

The combination of Cog's recent success with The New Normal, Shihad's transformation back from Pacifier and local favouites Giants Of Science was enough to inspire 1200 locals to pre-purchase tickets, subsequently officially selling out the day prior to the event despite the fact that on recent individual tours Shihad and Cog would have been obtaining crowds of roughly 4-500 people including punters paying at the door. <br />
Cog played an amazing show I was really wondering how Shihad were going to top it. But top they did when they came out and launched staight into You Again which was huge. The whole set was really heavy and probably the best show of that tour.<br />
