Shihad Wiki Shihad Wiki is the biggest resource of information on the internet for the NZ band Shihad. This website was started in March 2007 and has steadily grown into a monster of a site. This site features information on past concerts, their discography, tabs, history and a whole lot more of history revolving around the band. If you would like to help out and get an account so you can help edit the site email Karit and he will sort you out with an account and what not. Why do you need and account to edit? isn't this a wiki? Well having people sign up is in hope to stop vandalism and spamming. News 30 September 2009 - QLD Tour Announced for November + Legal Tender + New Single Sleepeater Shihad have announced they are playing 3 shows in Queensland this November, touring with the Galvatrons. Tour kicks off in Loganholme then moves to Fortitude Valley and winds up with a free shows at Fisherman's Wharf Tavern on the Gold Coast. 27 Nov - Fitzy's Loganholme, Loganholme, QLD, AU 28 Nov - Club 299, Fortitude Valley, QLD, AU 29 Nov - Fishermans Wharf Tavern, Gold Coast, QLD, AU The Rock FM's 'Legal Tender' tour kicks off the first leg of the tour tomorrow night in Dunedin. Tickets are selling like hot cakes for the Thursday night show in Newcastle as well as the Saturday show at the Annandale, so make sure you grab a ticket for you and your friends before these shows sell out too! Everything else remains the same. Reason is unknown as why dates have changed. 28 August 2009 - November Gigs Postponed Until 2010 We have just received notification that the 7 shows 7 albums November event planned by Shihad to celebrate their 21st birthday has had to be postponed until sometime in 2010, for various reasons. We will update you with more information when we get it. 13 August 2009 - New Shihad song Sleepeater gets funding Shihad have received funding for what would seem the first single off their yet untitled album to be released in March 2010. It is not known yet who is directing the video for this. 2 August 2009 - The Rock FM : Legal Tender Tour Eighteen years is a long time to be causing mayhem. So, what better way for The Rock to celebrate their 18th birthday than to get Australasia's four hardest rockin bands: Shihad, The Living End, Airbourne and Luger Boa together to help them cut loose on the LEGAL TENDER tour? The Rock Programme Director Brad King says with such a massive line-up, things are likely to get out of hand. "We can't think of a better way to celebrate our 18th birthday than cutting loose with four of the greatest rock acts in Australasia," he says. "Very rarely do you get to see the likes of Shihad, The Living End, Airbourne and Luger Boa on one very large, very loud bill, but with The Rock's Legal Tender Tour, that's exactly what's about to go down. It's huge!" From October 1 to October 11, join the crowd for two of New Zealand's finest and two of Australia's playing in seven sonic destruction test matches across the country. In 1999 The Rock relocates to Auckland, gets stuck in traffic, but still manages to broadcast in 20 markets from Northland to Southland. 2007 sees The Rock's ratings soar and the station beats chatterbox Newstalk ZB to become the Number 1 Radio station in New Zealand. On the 16th they're playing with Young Revelry & Kill Teen Angst. And the 17th with The Devil Rides Out & Brutus Plus another Annandale show has been announced for the 19th of September. 19 Sep - Annandale Hotel, Sydney, NSW, AU 16 Oct - Amplifier Bar, Perth, WA, AU 17 Oct - Amplifier Bar, Perth, WA, AU 4 June 2009 - Australian Tour details, NZ tour confirmation + New Album The Australian tour in September is a go. 4 dates at this stage; Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Tickets for these shows are on sale from the 9th of June. This will be a warm up tour for the 7 date NZ tour which is soon to be announced publicly. This is the info we have so far. November 7 shows 1 album will be played in entirety at each show from Churn to Beautiful Machine Shihad have also announced that they are releasing a new album in March 2010, stay tuned for more information. As heard from an interview with Jon on NZ radio station "The Rock," Shihad are apparently working on new material in the studios, he also mentioned that he has been working on some solo songs, which could lead onto a possible solo album at some time. 3 February 2009 - Super Rare Framed Shihad Poster This could be a once in a life time to take a very rare part of Shihad/Martin Emond's history home. This massive framed poster was once hung in the Illict Store in Christchurch.
