===31 August 2010 A heads up===

We have come across some info, but none of it has been confirmed, so we can't say anything. What we will say is it might be worth while directing some money towards your Shihad savings bank account with a target of December. If it doesn't pan out you will have some extra money saved for the Xmas Visa bill and for having drinks in the sun on a summer's afternoon.

[http://www.shihadwiki.com/media/misc/SHIHAD-IGNITE-PRESSER.doc Press Release from Road Runner Records]

They’re back.

Hot on the heels of the SOLD OUT run of Killjoy and General Electric album shows comes news of SHIHAD’s national tour in support of IGNITE – their new album slated for a September 24th release through iconic rock label Roadrunner Records.

Those in the know describe ‘Ignite’ as harkening back to many of the original raw elements of Shihad – the rumbling and slow spiralling heavy groove unfolding under the thick crackle of a duelling Telecaster and SG all underpinning Jon Toogood’s engaging vocal.

Joining Shihad on the Ignite tour to round out a smokin’ bill are Trial Kennedy and Black Devil Yard Boss (BDYB)

Trial Kennedy barely need introduction after their incendiary debut album ‘New Manic Art’ ripped through Australian rock airwaves in 2008; and word is TK will be playing cuts from an imminent new release.
+
=News!=

BDYB features ex-Mammal members Pete Williamson and Zane Rosanoski and ex-Pete Murray’s Stonemason bass player Michael Davids.  The debut BDYB EP is released on August 13th and their first single ‘One Dead Letter’ is spinning on triple j radio.

===4 May 2010 - Shihad sign to Roadrunner Australia===

To rock fans the country over, Shihad are a band that that have continually delivered the goods. However, despite their reputation as one of the most loved (adopted) local artists of the last two decades, they never let the grass grow under their feet and their forthcoming album is just as anticipated as classics like Killjoy, The General Electric and their last album Beautiful Machine.

With this in mind, Roadrunner Records are proud to announce this week that they have inked a deal with the NZ rockers and will be releasing their new album in Australia in September this year.

“Roadrunner Australia is extremely excited to be working with the mighty Shihad, after being fans for many years. We look forward to working with them on the new album and sharing in a new chapter for the band .” Ben Ralph – General Manager, Roadrunner Australia

"Roadrunner is a label that we grew up admiring from our early days as a young, spotty and reasonably proficient speed metal band - We've come close a couple of times over the years to inking with them in various OS territories so it's great to finally get a chance to work together - They are by far the world’s leading rock label, so it makes launching a new Shihad project with such a dedicated and vibrant team f#@king brilliant - Bring it on...!" Tom Larkin - Shihad

First taste from the new album will be the single Sleepeater, which opens with a slow burning mantra and warm guitar undercurrent uncoiling into a trademark booming chorus. The video is reverentially innovative, featuring Shihad fans being subjected to the elements on slo-mo, high definition video and is sure to become a viral fixture.

Stay tuned for news of some special live performances…
