Additional Information

Song meaning as told by Jon: "I was living in a batch by myself for a week, with no drugs and no phone and no nothing. Karl's parents share-own a batch on the beach in Raumati. It was amazing but at the same time I was looking at how the houses had slowly eaten into the hillside and I was thinking, 'fucking termites'. It's a crime to think that how it is now, is how it's going to be forever. We're living on a living being and burrowing into its skin". (Real Groove, September 1999)

Lyrics

We could choose to disregard it
Or have some fun and break it
Since God has just departed
We could carry on or fake it
Who has a better plan
Whats the true nature of man
Whats money to your soul
Watch as money takes control (x2)

And is there space for every boy and girl
In a competitive, material world
I guess we'll have to wait and see
But I'm trying too hard too believe

Know when to draw the line
Know there's a grand design
Know there's a better way
I don't know and cannot say
When my respect for man
Has taken all it can
The purchase of your soul
Placate and we have lost control (x2)

Is it that daddy's little boys and girls
Become the acne on the face of the world
I guess we'll have to wait and see
But its not something that I cannot believe
I cannot believe

We could choose to disregard it x2
Who has a better plan
Whats the true nature of man
Whats money to your soul
Watch as money takes control

Is it that daddy's little boys and girls
Become the acne on the face of the world
I guess we'll have to wait and see
And is there space for every boy and girl
In a competitive, material world
I guess we'll have to wait and see
And I'm trying so hard to believe
Trying so hard to believe

Please note the Blue Light Disco version of this track excludes the second to last paragraph beginning "We could choose to disregard it..."
